Woo-hoo...I am going to be an aunt again

Jinling called a day after they made it back to Florida. Apparently, she just found out that she is pregnant. Yep, I couldn't be more excited.

Richard

Just a few of the walking boy!

New Year's Eve

Just the five of us, Richard, Mom, Ken and Jinling. Unfortunately, Richard developed a cold while here. They had to take him to QuickCare a few times. Poor thing.

Jinling made some really good Chinese food, broccoli and beef dishes for our meal. Did I mention that she is from Beijing. If she lived closer, I would really be cooking good!

We just kind of sat around and talked until it was time to do the fireworks. Every year there is an "incident" with fireworks. Last year, Stefan shot a bottle rocket that somehow ended up hitting me in the leg instead of shooting in the sky..hmmmm...wonder how that happened? Nice bruise for me. This year Greg attempted to toss a bottle rocket which broke off in mid-swing and shot back towards all of us. Fortunately no one was hurt. Maybe we should ban bottle rockets at our house.
It was a good evening.

Christmas 2007

Whew...finally a break. Business was, well busy from September all the way through Christmas. It was almost a relief to get to the actual holidays just to have some kind of break.
Christmas break was just real hectic and eventful.
Kenneth, Jinling, and Richard arrived about a week before Christmas. They stayed for a day then headed on to Dallas to see my niece, Kristen. She had her second baby girl just a few days before my brother came in. She named her Stephanie Michelle and from what I have heard, she is a healthy little girl.
While they were in Dallas, Greg, the kids, and I managed to get down to Natchitoches to see the lights.
They came back after a few days. Christmas was at my house again. All were in attendance except for my brother-in-law, John, and my niece, Kristen and her family. We had so much fun.
The girls were crazy, loud, and just almost overly wound up most of the day. Both were thrilled with their special gifts from Santa: a dress up wedding dress for Emma and a ballerina doll for Sarah. And two princess sleeping bags. They are such girl girls:)

Stefan got all kinds of "manly" things plus the one gift that all the males spent the day playing with: and electronic helicopter. Why didn't they get one for Kenneth and Greg too?
Christmas dinner was at Mom's...non-traditional...we did Mexican. Nice for a change.
I had a wonderful night out with just my sister-in-law during the holidays. We laughed, we ate, we shopped. I just love Jinling. And then I had just a movie night with my brother's family and Mom....love National Treasure 2!!!!
Oh...the big news: Richard started walking while he was here!!! He took a couple of steps to my brother one night. Then the next night he took off and walked to me!!! Aunt Sharron is in love with that little boy.

Thanksgiving

Well....all went well. It was at our house as usual. It is just easier for us to accomodate everyone. We were all thrilled and thankful that my sister-in-law was able to come home from the hospital the week before the dinner. So she was able to be with us. She was moving slow, but hey, she's alive and with us!

It was a good day. Now we are looking forward to Christmas, when my brother, sister-in-law and nephew come in!

The Wreck :(

Well...suffice it to say that Stefan was NOT the first person to wreck the car. Sad but true, it was me.

The girls and I were running some errands and I had to pull out of a tree-lined street with a blind corner. As I puller out, an older couple in a big red truck came speeding around the corner. I did the only thing I could...looked in the rear view mirror and threw the car in reverse. Did I say that this was a small, dark tree-lined street that I was pulling out of? Anyway, I didn't see anything before I went into reverse. However, within moments, I heard a horn and felt the car connect with the bumper of a UPS truck. Oh joy!

MY consolation in this matter is this: If I had not thrown the car in reverse, Sarah and I would have been seriously hurt or killed. The UPS driver evern stated that I did the only thing that I could.

So the injury in this accident was the back of Stefan's car. Fortunately, it is probably going to be minor body work to fix it.

Yeah for me!

The Girls Birthday Party with friends.

Since the girl's birthday was in the middle of the week, we decided to have their "friends" party on Saturday, Nov. 10th. Wes's birthday was the end of October, so the two of us decided to team together and have the parties at the church in Big D.

The kids had a blast....I think the hit of the party was the Disney space walk.

I just can't get over how old the girls are getting.

Thanks to everyone who came.....we all appreciated it.

Here are just a few shots:

(The hit of the party)

(Favors anyone?) (Wes)
(Spiderman, spiderman....Wes's cake)
(Sarah and Arielle)
(Emma blowing out her set of cupcakes.....way less messy!)
(I think they were playing school....or Follow the Leader)

Emma & Sarah's birthdays - November 8th

On Nov. 8th Emma turned 5 and Sarah turned 4. We had a small birthday at the house, then went up to the hospital so the could visit their Aunt Donna.

It is hard to believe that they are already so old. They grow up so very quickly.

Here are a few from the evening.....there will be more from their birthday party with their friends...later.

Still Catching Up...October 26th - Donna

My sister-in-law, Donna, went into the hospital on October 26th. She just wasn't feeling well and was extremely nauseous. As many of you know, Donna is a diabetic in her early 40's and she had a heart attack almost 3 years ago.

As it turned out, they discovered that she had a major heart attack. Most of November was spent between home and the hospital while Donna recovered from a quadruple bypass.

As a quick update, she is doing better. Recovery is slow, but the doctors will tell you that it takes a good 6 months to recover from open heart surgery.

Just keep Donna in your prayers. She has alot going on.

Stefan's New Ride

On October 20th, we won the bid on ebay for Stefan's new car. So on November 1st, me, Cindy, and all of the kids made a day trip to Dallas to pick up Stefan's new car. That was a LONG day.

Here are a few more web pics of his "new to him" 2001 Hyundai Accent:

Now he just has to wait until January 15th to become driver legal.
