17 Years Strong - Happy Anniv. 2 Me

Today is our 17th anniversary. So much has changed since then. Greg and I have both lost our fathers and grandparents. Both of our mother's have moved back to town. We've had three children. Wow....17 years. I thought I would do a short reminiscing ...I did say short :)

This was us on our wedding day....we definitely look YOUNG.

Me...pregnant with Stefan. Greg, his sister, Teresa, and his dad.

1992 - Stefan and me at the hospital.

Greg and Stefan...at home.
10 - 1/2 years later...Greg with Emma...
I said it would be short. Actually that's all that I found still sitting on my hard drive. Needless to say, we have changed. 17 years is a long time. Just look at us now....that's us on the profile pic. It's good though....it's worth it. Definitely worth it :)

StudentLife Camp - Orange Beach AL - 2008

So...I mentioned that Stefan went to the beach. Here is a picture of the whole group at Student Life Camp. I stole it off of Stefan's camera. I know no shame :(

Pretty good group though. He had a lot of fun at camp...except for the whole losing his glasses thing.

Now you see them....now they are gone

Stefan went to Student Life camp at the beach this past week. When I received a call from him on Monday, I was actually excited. I thought he was calling to say hi and tell me how much he loved and missed me and...NOT. Yeah...I'm not that stupid. I get a call from Stefan the first day that he is camp....my reaction....What's wrong?

Well, there are these really cool things at the beach called waves. And if you don't pay attention, they might just blow you over and wash your glasses out to sea. Yep, Stefan called to let me know that his glasses are now drifting somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. I can only hope that somewhere out there swims a dolphin with optically improved vision.

Guess I'll be at the doctor's office yet again this week.

Jinling's Garden

My sister-in-law just loves Greg's garden and Greg likes for me to take pictures of his garden every year...so here are some more for Jinling to look at...since she isn't here.

Just a few more finds

So Greg and I went to Scarborough Faire again at the beginning of May. We actually bought a little point and shoot to use.....we haven't had one in a while. It was supposed to be a big thing and we were going to take lots of pictures. Yeah...well...here are the two that I found.....I think we took maybe 10. Oh well...and isn't that just such a great shot of me?

And here is just a quick pic of Stefan at the end of the year band banquet. Point and shoot again....I'm thinking that I don't like the point and shoot.

Fort Worth Zoo

I forgot all about these pics from the Fort Worth Zoo. We took the kids there when we went to Dallas for a family weekend. Here's a brief slideshow of some of the things we saw there.

Stefan Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that we finally got Stefan's test results back. The doctor said that Stefan has a rare premature heart beat, but it occur with regularity and is normal for him. All his vitals were great. He then told me that this isn't actually rare and happens alot in teenagers...AND that they usually grow out of it. He said that he felt like Stefan is a healthy 16 year old and we don't need to do any further cardiac work.

THANK GOD!!!

Issues of the Heart

Some of you may remember that I said Stefan would be going to the cardiologist. Well he finally got in yesterday. They did say that he looks like he has Sinus arrhythmia, which the doctor said can and probably is completely normal...nothing to worry about. However, just as a precaution, they made him wear a 24 hour heart monitor. Needless to say, Stefan did not enjoy having a little friend strapped to his chest :)

Here is the monitor:

And here is Stefan...wired for sound...

We have to turn in the monitor today. It will take a few days to get the results.

School's Out For Summer!!!!

I officially have a son that is a junior in high school now. Wow!
Oh...and he made the drumline too!!!!

More of Richard's Visit

This little guy just cracks us up. He is always so happy and so fun to watch. I think that this is the longest visit that he has been here for...so I will put a few more up for us to laugh at:)

Yes....he is trying to make an escape through the backend. I don't know what is up with those shifty looking eyes. Aww....he loves his cousin Stefan....alot....

My 5-1/2 month pregnant sister-in-law trying to convince Richard that the water jets really are fun and not scary at all.

What....are you looking at me?

Umm....I'm not so sure about this......I think these trunks make my butt look fat....or maybe it is my really water loaded diaper.

Here I come!!!!

Just chillin in the pool....so...I got a yellow ducky float...he's my very best friend!

Watch out....that first lean back from the pool is a real doosy! Or...I've fallen and I can't get up!

My beautiful, pregnant, sister-in-law!

A few pics for Jinling

OK...you said that you wanted a few flowers....

And this one too...

Yuck

I finally had enough of feeling bad, so I went to the doctor on Monday. Yay for me....two bad ear infections. Sinuses stink!

Mother's Day

OK...so I am a week late. That's what happens when company is in town. We had a wonderful Mother's Day. Since Jinling is in town, we decided to take all the mother's out: Mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, and me. I'm the one with the most kids so I got to pick...El Chico's it was!

We had a great lunch...no pics. Then we came back to the house, just our little family. We had a nice afternoon nap and just relaxed all evening.....which I needed (I wasn't feeling well).

My boys were very sweet. Stefan bought a dozen red roses for me...with his own money! And there were sweet cards from all. It was a great Mother's Day.
Roses from Stefan

Card from Greg

And all the sweet things that he wrote inside....
Very, very sweet letter from Stefan.....yep...it made me cry.
Flower that Emma made at Sunday school.
The poet extraordinaire. Poor baby burnt his chin on piping hot pizza sauce the night before.

Flowers from Mom. Fresh from our garden flowers.
Sarah's card that she made at Sunday school.
The card from the kids. The girls signed this all by themselves.

Guess who's in town for a visit?

We just love this little guy. My nephew always has a smile on his face and the kids just adore him. It's hard to believe that in just a few short months he will be a big brother. Jinling and Richard are in for three weeks to visit. We picked up one of those little pools for him to play in while he is here. He gets so excited when he plays....it's just fun to watch them when they are this age. Here are a few from the other day.
